Meta Marketing

The fastest way to grow on any platform is to talk about growing on that platform.

I'm calling this meta marketing.

Not like the company, but more like meta information - the thing that is not the primary thing.

I've noticed this as a trend on every social media platform.

LinkedIn gurus will talk about growing on LinkedIn and get hundreds or thousands of likes.

Popular Twitter accounts get a ton of engagement just by talking about Twitter growth. Of course, this feeds into the marketing loop:

Talk about growing on Twitter > grow on Twitter > Talk about growing on Twitter

The same is prevalent in Tik Tok, and likely every other platform.

It feels a bit sleazy using this strategy, but people do it all the time. I tested a bit of it myself and the posts about growing on Twitter are some of the most engaging posts I've had.
